Syncing Microsoft Outlook to Google Apps

There is only one good, complete solution I've found for synching Outlook to Google Apps. In other words: Outlook Calendar to GCal Outlook Contacts to GContacts Outlook Tasks to GTasks Outlook Notes to GDocs That program is gSyncit, which can be found here: http://www.daveswebsite.com/software/gsync/ It's not cheap, but it works (in my case). If you also sync Outlook to the iPhone, make sure you check the settings in iTunes before you sync. Sure, you can use Google's GCal sync http://www.google.com/support/calendar/bin/answer.py?answer=89955 but it only syncs calendars. You also can sync Outlook Tasks via Toodledo http://www.toodledo.com and some third-party software it links to on its site. In my case, though, the syncing didn't quite work (but maybe that was my fault; still, I wasn't able to fix it).

GTD and Google Tasks

Like a lot of people, I've been trying to find the right app for GTD ( http://davidco.com ). Currently, I'm trying Google Tasks, and I think it works pretty well. Some other apps I've tried: RTM ( http://rememberthemilk.com ) is clunky to use with GTD, although there is an extension for Firefox (and maybe Chrome) that provides an improved interface (called something like A Better RTM). RTM has a nice iPhone app, although the free version is limited. Regarding Google Tasks, I've found that it can work OK with GTD.  I set up GTasks according to the GTD Outlook guidelines from David Allen Co., then bookmarked/docked the following link for an expanded, full-screen view of GTasks (including menu bar):  https://mail.google.com/tasks/ canvas This setup requires more manual processing than some web apps, but it's free, and keyboard shortcuts (like shift-return to access the notes part of a task, and tabbing) can help speed the process. Also, using X's and asteris...

Getting tired of calling the "How's my driving?" hotlines listed on commercial vehicles. Wastes my time. They're all driving fine.

Do not panic and think you've passed on, if you speak to people and they don't hear or respond. First check if your phone is on mute.

I'm still mad about the ending of The Sopranos, where the cameraman filming the show suddenly is killed.

Went out to dinner last night. Food was tasteless. So I sent my condiments to the chef.
